Welcome to my online portfolio. I'm a web standards and flash developer based in Toronto, Canada. I get a thrill from creating something cool and fun that people enjoy using. I think about loose ends, and try to anicipate issues of usage before small issues turn into fires. I take the vision of designers and writers and turn it into something tangable for the user to enjoy.
My career began in the flash era of the web, building game content and for brands and childrens websites. As the web changed, so did my skill set. I grew my skills to include php and back end technologies as well as web standards.
The CBC weather page is a high traffic page which contains a number of key features. My role in this page was the development of the front end templating, type ahead features, and weather animation. The pages for major centres are processed by the server hourly. The radar imagery is pulled from the meteorological departments servers to give up to date views of weather patterns
Air Miles community draws together a variety of social media feeds. Using web standards, I put together a a means by which the Air Miles Marketing team can interact with the community at large.
The Air Miles Calculator is a tool for consumers to evaluate the Air Miles they can earn from their spending habits. It features a instant bar graph controlled by jquery ui sliders. The calculator was built using HTML and CSS, as the target audience used legacy browsers primarily.
Out of the Dark was an information gathering page that used promotion to prompt users to sign up for communications. My role involved building the database, php, javascript, flash, and front end html. The user was prompted to search the screen with a virtual spotlight to find the button to enter the content form page.

BMO - That's the Ticket
Description
This project was a collaboration with BMO and Air Miles. The project integrated the Air Miles bonus card with a database of several thousand codes with predetermined Air Miles Values. My role involved the creation and population of the database, usage of the in house php "ED" framework, cross domain javascript, and the html front end.
